Registration for Summer 7’s is officially open! For the uninitiated, Sevens is the Olympic format of rugby. Seven players a side, seven minute halves. Faster, more open and a whole lot of fun!
Please complete the three steps below as soon as possible! OMBAC is planning to field teams across multiple age groups in 2026.

All competing players nationwide are required to be registered with USA Rugby. This covers the whole year, including the regular 15's season, as well as Summer Sevens. USA Rugby Registrations last until August 31st.
If you have played with OMBAC already this season, you can skip to step 2.Cost: $41 + Fees

The next step is to register with our State Youth Rugby organization, SoCal Youth Rugby (SCYR) on the MatchFacts registration platform. Here, you will also pay the SCYR dues.
This fee is separate from any other season registration.
This is an extremely important step as it will determine eligibility of the player. Please complete in a timely manner. Players will not be able to play until steps 1 & 2 are fully complete.
Pro Tip: If you are new, please ensure Step 1 is complete first, and that the photo you upload is a clean, head shot of the player.Costs

If paying by cash, please put the total amount in a sealed envelope, complete with the name(s), DOB(s) and USAR player number(s) of the players in question, and hand it to Jamie Latty, or a board member or your coach for delivery.

We already played this season. Do we have to register again? - If you already registered USA Rugby for the 2026 season, then you do not have to do that part again. You will have to register in MatchFacts for the Summer Sevens season, in addition to club dues.
Will their be a U8 Sevens season? No, there is no U8 Sevens. For older U8's due to move up to U10 next year, this is a great chance to attend a practice and get used to contact. If you like it, register to play!
How long to the tournaments last? Tournaments are always Saturdays and times will vary on a) the age group and how many teams are in each bracket and b) how well our teams do. If we win and play in the finals, the day will be longer. Whatever that looks like, we always reccomend preparing to spend at least a large chunk of the day surrounded by other awesome parents and players, and should pack accordingly.
What should we bring? Pop ups, sunscreen, food, drinks, coolers, games (for between match boredom), hats.
When and where will we practice? This is TBD but if it is not at North Clairemont, it will be close by. We will likely be separating the U1/18's from he younger players for space reasons. Stay tuned!
