Aiden Kemp Wins Mark Loane Medal 2023

America's best high school rugby player!

OMBAC Wallabies is incredibly proud to announce that our very own Aiden Kemp has been awarded the prestigious Mark Loane Medal. The award is presented annually by the University of Queensland, Australia to recognize the outstanding potential of America's best high school rugby player. It is given based on skills, ability, and aptitude, both on and off the rugby field. The award itself commemorates the achievements of one of the legends of the game, Mark Loane. As former Wallabies captain, Mark is regarded by many as one of the finest players to come out of Queensland.

Kemp was presented with the award at the annual BELUQ Rugby Dinner in New York City on November 2nd, 2023.

Aiden has played with OMBAC from U10 all the way through U18, while also representing St. Augustine High School , EIRA, and more recently, the University of Arizona. For those of you who have met and know Aiden, we are sure you will agree that he is a fine, upstanding young man with a true passion for the sport.

The Kemp family have been an integral part of OMBAC Wallabies over the years, with both Mr. & Mrs. Kemp coaching, serving on the board, selling merch, hosting teams at their home and being a massively important resource for new families joining the club and the sport. Additionally, Aiden's younger brothers, Alex and Oliver
also play for Wallabies at the U18 and U10 levels respectively and show an enormous amount of promise.

Aiden follows in the footsteps of another OMBAC Wallabie, Ethan McVeigh, who was the 2018 recipient of the Mark Loane Medal. Last week, McVeigh signed with DC Old Glory in the MLR.

To Aiden, and the entire Kemp Family, we congratulate you on this incredible achievement. You are a role model for this sport, and our club.
